We have this in Germany: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Germany and most of the guys I know (and myself also) didn't go there...
Of course, it's mandatory, but there are quite simple ways to avoid it. ^^

i am not in the army i am a marine theirs a difference, Army has more tanks and helicopters and the marines are built strong and have sharp shooting skills, we also have more amphibious landings then the army were first in and last out with this note we a a department of the Navy

I'm 16 and I plan on joining the army after I get out of college. I've wanted to do this for three years now. I just feel like it's the right thing for me to do.

there is only 2 swiming things and the DI's are there to help you. how ever the worst thing in training is the final crucible after that you will have the balls and will be called a marine

Sorry if I'm not in the military, but do realize, your secretary of state is 15... Somehow i doubt it would be legal for me to serve, but I I do someday, it would be either air force or navy. I love jets and i love naval combat...Too bad the Iowas aren't in service anymore...

can i say 3 things..... join the marines, talk to me if you want to speak with a recruiter and score big on your ASVAB test if you want the best job
